We start out with Mike’s impressions of Apple TV and The Morning Show followed by a discussion of Apple’s services and some possible predictions for the future. From there we talk about some of our apps we use.
In this episode we start out talking about the newest hardware from Amazon. From some Alex wearables to new or improved Echo hardware there was lots to talk about. From there we moved on to discussing IOS 13/iPadOS. We listed some of the pluses and minuses of the new release along with a little on podcast testing.
This week we are going to drive you crazy talking about cars. We discuss how we shop for cars, what we like and the experiences we had car shopping.
For our picks we shop for our ultimate cars, money is no object. First Elisa wants a Acura MDX for driving around. Melissa went crazy and got a Porsche Cayenne, most importantly in purple. And Mike is going back to his roots with a Jeep Gladiator Pickup.
This week (after the weather report of course) we start out with a PSA from Elisa about checking your bill and standing your ground when it comes to what you’re being charged for. Then Melissa tells us of her modem woes and what it took to resolve it (kinda). Then Mike tells of his experience of using Car Play in his new Toyota.
After some discussion of the weather (Mike’s finally happy with his), we talk about Mike’s new podcast. He talks about the creating and submitting his new creation. We also examine using Twisted Wave , Blog Touch Pro , Simplenote, Box.com and Anchor.fm for his tablet only production of his podcast.
Then we look at Apple’s announcement this week. We were not terribly excited about it but, your mileage may vary.
From there we move on to our picks. First Mike, in keeping with his tablet podcast production, wants the iPad Mini. With the hope of spring to come Elisa wants a new grill. And Melissa just wants to sit down on a new loveseat.
After Mike complains about the weather and Melissa and Elisa torture him with theirs we move on to a variety of subjects. First we discuss the upcoming Apple event. Then Elisa tells us about her ongoing saga with Spectrum. From there it morphs to streaming services. We move on to Melissa tells us about her new Apple Watch and has a helpful hint for anyone upgrading to a new watch. Elisa regales us with her weird Do Not Disturb thing. Finally Mike tells about his wife’s new car and trying figure how to make it easy for her to play music.
This week we are down to just 2 hosts, but they’re the best hosts (just ask us). After moaning about the weather we actually have things to talk about. First Mike and Melissa talk about remembering things and how we cope (hint : Mike wants to be a cyborg). After we discuss a few other subjects we get to our main subject, Geeky Pet Gifts. After that we discuss Netflix’s Black Mirror : Bandersnatch and what devices support it.
On this noteworthy episode, Tim Robertson, founder of the Stoplight/MyMac networks and creator of Geekiest Show Ever joins to celebrate our 300th episode. We talk about the history of the show and its inspirations and, as always, we do veer off in other directions. Topics discussed are: video, pinball and arcade games, brain farts on other podcasts that we can’t quite remember (Google ain’t it wonderful?), women on the internet, and just some general reminiscing.
